Artist's Statement

Presently I am exploring identity in my work and construction of identity and how such labelling and stereotyping continues to disadvantage and create 'otherness'.

I believe as artists we have a responsibility to question society and document what transpires around us and by asking these questions we get to help transform the world in which we live.

My installations ask the audience to step outside the status-quo and question their own position within society and therefore engage in a dialogue that may offer a different reading than they perhaps expected, and in doing so create the opportunity for change to occur.
